Getting to Whistler
  1. Fly into Vancouver (YVR)

Land Fri, Dec 11 between noon and 3 PM. Fly home Wed, Dec 16 on a flight departing 1–4 PM.

  2. Take the shuttle — it’s included

In SkiSync: Edit Trip Registration → Transportation. Choose an airport shuttle 1+ hour after you land and a return shuttle 5+ hours before you depart. Enter your final flight into YVR and first flight out. Don’t forget to click Save Changes.

  3. Bring the right documents

Passport, plus an eTA or visitor visa if your passport requires one — see Visas.

  4. Check in twice at The Delta

The shuttle drops you at the front door. One person per condo checks into the hotel, then everyone heads down the hall to the on-trip check-in room (first-floor conference rooms) for your swag bag, wristband and add-ons like lift tickets.

Visas

Depending on your citizenship and U.S. status, you may need an eTA or a visitor visa to enter Canada. The Ski + Snowboard Club reimburses 50% of eligible visa fees.

Usually nothing extra

U.S. / Canadian citizens + U.S. permanent residents

Generally no Canadian visa or eTA. We recommend a passport valid at least 6 months past the trip.

eTA · CAD $7

Visa-exempt passports (e.g. UK, Japan)

Typically need an eTA when flying to Canada — a simple online application, often approved in minutes. Some passports (e.g. Brazil) may qualify with a valid U.S. nonimmigrant visa or prior Canadian visa.

Visitor visa (TRV)

Visa-required passports (e.g. India, China, Colombia)

Apply ASAP — allow weeks. CAD $100, plus CAD $85 biometrics if required. Big Ski reimburses 50% of eligible fees.

Questions? Reach out to Samuel Rahman on Slack or Noah Korn (VP Logistics) at noah.korn@kellogg.northwestern.edu. Confirm current rules at Canada.ca. You’re responsible for your own visa and travel documents, including for U.S. re-entry; reimbursement doesn’t guarantee approval or entry.
